D. at the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vermont in 2. Family Medicine residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Washington. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Bergland volunteers at the Shepherds Hand Free Clinic, and is a member of the North Valley Hospital Board of Directors. Bergland and his wife, Glenna, a registered nurse, are both former active duty United States Army Officers, and are veterans of the war in Iraq. Their Army careers also took them to Washington State and Germany, and as their active duty Army time drew to a close they decided to look for a small, friendly, mountainous community in which to settle and raise their family. They have lived in Whitefish since 2. Their daughter Susie was 3 months old when the Berglands moved to Whitefish, and Susie now has two younger siblings Ginger and Stuart, both of whom were born at North Valley Hospital. The Berglands enjoy taking the family for walks, bike rides, hiking, jogging, skiing, and nearly all other outdoor activities.
